AWDI IS OFFERING VSI CERTIFIED CONTRACTORS COMPLIMENTARY CERTIFICATION AND TOOLS AS WINDOW INSTALLERS AND THE CREDENTIAL OF CERTIFIED EXTERIOR CONTRACTOR.

While siding can be independent from windows and vice versa, in the world of lumberyards, building materials dealers and distribution centers, similar disciplines would enable siding contractors to use available resources and add to their opportunties - so much so that in the early 1990's when VSI was part of the Society of Plastics, AWDI designed and operated a sister program to for Siding to create Certified Exterior Contractors. We provided a manual and a written test similar to how the Window program was operated.

Our main focus has been replacement windows. Since 1990, AWDI has championed proper window installation. In that time, we have created the singular library and resource for replacement application of vinyl windows. We helped establish the core of Method A and Method B for ASTM's 2112-07 through 2112-16 as acknowledged in the ASTM standard itself.

Our certification program was the first of its kind and received the support and promotion of EnergyStar, NFRC, Consumer Reports Magazine, etc., and earned a government Certification Mark for the application of window and door products to our standards.

AWDI, through its WIXSYS Program provides Energy Star and NFRC supported installation instructions for windows and doors through an online portal similar to InstallMasterworkWindows. We have a 156 page fully illustrated manual breaking down how to measure, specify, remove old windows, and install new ones - all step by step. A revised manual will be sent to every CEC in the program. This manual will be the reference for skilled VSI Certified Siding Installers that will enable you to effectively install replacement windows. We will also make available for upper tier participants a customized One on One, jobsite we directory that will place detailed jobsite details so that VSI participants will have the clear path to apply their skills for most window jobs - providing resource and consistency. AWDI will issue Certification to siding contractors identified by their VSI credential, and offer to award them certification. They will be promoted on our website, and all dealers will be made aware of the "pool" in their area so that they can contact them to hire. The cost of this program will be mainly for materials and resources. There is one-time $79.00 signup fee to get the materials and access. As long as the siding contractor is in the program, there is no additional fee. The fee is per contractor and the support will only be for that individual. Access to the One on One web selection resource will be licensed accordingly.
